Prerequisites:
- Normal student qualification , Access to Internet, Knowledge of how to use
a PC, lessons delivered as MS-Word 6.0 for Windows.
Learning activities:
- use of information and communication technology: conferences, hyper-media
- design of learning material (cooperation) and discussion on the net.
- development of a virtual learning environment
Source of material:
- All the learning material will be delivered electronically as
web-documents. Internet has a lot of information in this area, and articles from
the Internet will be used both as syllabus and as background material In
addition, a conference system is established exchange of information between
students - teachers etc. and where discussions may take place. This should act
as help to create a virtual classroom.
Method of assessment:
- Written exam , 4 hours, 3credits (one year study provides 20 credits),
given by one of the cooperating institutions or alternatively product assessment
(lessons produced at end of course.
What new things should the learner be able to do:
- develop distance learning material/course
- be familiar with ICT-based open and distance learning (ICT = Information
and Communication Technology)
- have a better understanding of cooperation between students, teachers,
institutions in an open learning environment
- evaluate different models for implementing ODL (Open & Distance
Learning)
