Pedagogy in Open Learning:

Lesson 03: Methods in Internet-based Open Learning

Geir Maribu, 11. March 1997

In lesson 2 we looked at the tools available for doing ODL via Internet. Now we should take a closer look to following: What methods are we using when we offer courses via Internet, whta tools are we using, and how is the lecture and the exercises organized. How do teacher and students communicate?
Still we are looking at the NITOL experience. We do not have ambitions to give a complete overview of the methods used by ODL via Internet, but we do have a suspicion that most of the institutions giving ODL on Internet are using a similar approach.
